Houston Vs Portland in round one of the 2009 NBA play-off's!

Here is a quick and dirty preview clip:
http://forthefans.rockets.com/video/5121697/Playoff+Preview+-+Houston+Rockets+vs+Portland+Trail+Blazers

What do ya'll think of this awesome series and the Rockets chances?

My thoughts are that Yao must not be ever be soft, complain or get discouraged, play hard every minute all 7 games if needed. The game will come to you Mr. Ming, be patient and when it does, do your thing! Try Ming at Point Center and post his big butt up 8-15 ft out from the bucket if they want to front him all night, swinging the ball around and resetting will not work. Artest must bye into the team concept at all times, his stupid 3's he missed last night got the Mavs back in it. They cannot win without University of Oregon star Aaron Brooks playing well, Kyle Lowry too. They need easy transition buckets from these guys to win close games. Also, Brendon Roy is a bad match-up for the Rockets, Battier will not be able to handle him, Artest for small amounts of time at best, is this the time for Von Wafer to show the world he can D up? Hope so. A few more things...Scola needs to look to score, period. The Rockets have to sneak a road win and win at home, the Trail Blazers are not so good on the road, this can be done. Keep the score in the 80's. Win the rebounding totals by a large margin. Finally, I think coach Mac of Portland is overrated and Coach Adelman is underated, let's hope this proves to be true. A 10 man rotation is not the NBA way in the play-off's...

Game one is Saturday the 18th at 9:30 PM CST. Let's hear from you below Rocket faithful, Red Rowdies and Blazer haters!!

skwilliams454 Going across enemy lines. (page: 1 2) 20 May 17 2009, 12:50 AM EDT by RRoble

When in battle, only the bold will cross enemy lines to see what the competition is thinking. With our Rockets heavily engaged in a round 1 payoff math against Portland, I took a journey over to the hostile Portland fan website and made it back safely here to give a report:

PORTLAND IS ALREADY LOOKING FORWARD TO A SERIES WITH LA!

Is this confidence okay with Rockets fans? In response to posts like the one I've pasted below from a Portland fan, I suggest we stage an ambush of their site discussions especially if the series go to a game 7. They are already making LA predictions and sizing up their styles of play. What do you think?

On regular basis we would have won the series by now. Most of the fouls on Yao aren't called but in the playoffs the refs seem to be trying harder. We don't have the inside game to compete with them as long as Scola is helping so much. That's our biggest weakness. Lakers aren't really problem for us. Healthy Bynum is a big issue but the remaining players are worse than ours on defense. We have the fast and tough game which they can't handle easily. If we win the series against Rockets (3rd time is the charm in Houston?) we might get an 'upset' over the Lakers. They don't have a chance in Rip City but we aren't as good on the road, still I see us stealing a game in LA. 4-2 would be nice before the conference finals :)

Loveli24 Show your support tonight... 4 May 15 2009, 12:37 PM EDT by Loveli24
Thread started: May 14 2009, 12:19 PM EDT  Watch
Ok Fans let's go out there and show support to our Rockets...They are back home and like someone commented on Facebook -

"The old and experienced love to recall the memories of packed, over-heated arenas filled with fans spewing nothing but passion, venom and vitriol for two and a half hours in a desperate dance designed to carry the home team to victory. They summon these recollections as an ode to days gone by, back when fans actually had an effect on the game. They say those days are gone for good. Don’t believe it for even a second. Toyota Center can and will resurrect that dormant spirit this weekend. The séance begins tonight!

Something truly special is in the air. Can you feel it? It is opportunity. It is hope. It is belief"-Jason Friedman

So Believe Houston and lets go out there and show some support!

The game will be shown on Disco Green's big inflatable screen right in front of the Anheuser-Busch stage; tipoff is at 8:30 p.m., but if you want to show up earlier, you can spend some quality time with The Hollisters performing as part of the park's Thursdays Rock concert series- at 6:30 p.m.

hallonted Yao Ming need to be aggresive!!! 3 May 1 2009, 12:00 AM EDT by skwilliams454

Houston vs Portland!! Everyone knows that portland will front Yao but Rocket fell for that. The whole second game, Yao has only 6 time for shot! That's not enough for any starting center in NBA. Even rookie has more than that EVERY game. Yao need to be tough!! Ask the teammember to pass the ball!!! You may miss the first 10 shot, next 10 you can make it. And also as rules of NBA, the guard are more potected in paint area. If you touch them, you foul. Do not need to chase them, use your height!! Do not move your foot too much, blog their face. Only thing they can do, it pass the ball then!!! Tim Duncan is much better at this level!
